Life EWAS participated in 4th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management, Cyprus 2016, held in Limassol, Cyprus on 23–25 June 2016.

Mrs. Niki Mavropoulou, D-Waste expert, presented the paper of Life EWAS titled “The use of Social Platforms as a part of a strategy for improving collection and recycling rates in local communities” and highlighted the importance of Social Platforms and citizens’ engagement towards the achievement of sustainable practices in waste management. Mrs. Mavropoulou also presented the EWAS project and its’ Social Platform, which is currently under development. According to her description the platform aims to inform users regarding the waste collection results of the two pilot areas of the project, namely Chania and Seville, as well as provide them with useful information regarding recycling, in order to help them better recycle.
